    I thought there was no way I wanted another weight loss book. I tried them all and nothing had ever worked. Sure, I lost weight but put it all back on and then some. But knowing Rob Parnell I thought I would give his a try. It surprised me to learn how different his book was from all the rest of them. His message was as plain as when he writes about writing. It is like no other weight loss book out there. I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about making healthy choices for the future. It is not a get skinny quick book, it is a change of life for the better. I say go for it, and thanks Rob for giving us an easy way to lose weight and keep it off.

    This book, “The Easy Way to Lose Weight and Stay Thin Forever”, was a pleasant surprise.

    I had no idea that Rob Parnell was familiar with Albert Ellis and his teaching, and the tools he came up with works.

    The knowledge inside this book is based on cognitive psychology as well as the author’s personal experience, and he’s tried the method on other people, where it also worked.

    First half of the book is background story and theory, and it makes sense.

    I’m on Day 4 of the 31 day plan, and there’s one thing that’s not clear to me about the exercises:

    The five favorite foods, are they supposed to be unhealthy? Mine aren’t. Well, the first, probably, but not the others. And my least favorite foods – some of them are unhealthy, and there’s one of them I would never eat. No, make that two.

    Also, what does “food” cover in this context – an ingredients? a meal? a snack? (I’ve understood it as all of these.)

    I love that you’re not going on a diet with this book. Yeah, focusing on what not to eat and in which amounts is a shortcut to failure. With this book you teach yourself to trust your body, and you teach your body to crave what’s good for it.

    A common fault in many weight loss books is to believe that fat people are fat because they eat chocolate, chips and cookies all day. I rarely eat either. I eat lean chicken when we eat meat. I eat vegetables and a little fruit. But still I’m fat. And Rob Parnell does not commit this error. He knows there can be other reasons to be fat.

    Does the advice in this book work? It’s too early to say, of course, because I still have 27 more days to go, but I woke up burning this morning, and that’s usually a sign that I’m burning fat. We don’t have a scale, though, so I’ll have to rely on the mirror instead.

    I have high hopes.

    Just finished the last day but not done with the book. Doing all these exercises seems to have changed my way of thinking about eating. I had started a healthier eating program and found it easier to go with it once I put it together with this book.often, when I was getting stuck or obstinate, something in just that day’s notes would address my mood. I suggest you give it a try, commit to even a week and see the change happening.
