    I briefly worked for a juicing company, so I have been interested in what others say about the advantages of juicing. I’ve read a number of juicing books, and this is one of the best. Good, clear information and well-written. It’s just the right size too. One can get overwhelmed by tooooo much information.

    I waited to review it until I tried some of the recipes, and so far everything I’ve made has been outstanding. I look forward to trying juicing more.

    After reading this book and trying some of the recipes, I have decided I am more of a smoothie person than a juicer.

    First, I don’t have the equipment. Donna Caesar included a comprehensive description of the types of machines out there. My son used to have a juicer, but the clean-up was awful. I don’t have the money for the kind of machine the author recommends, nor do I want the hassle of the clean-up they require. I’ll stick to my little blender, thank you.

    Second, the recipes in this book are too veggie for me. I admit I have a demanding sweet-tooth, hence my attraction to a book that promised to help me lose weight. I have found some awesome recipes elsewhere to make blended fruits, vegetables and dairy products that are far more satisfying and slimming than the concoctions in this book. Many of the author’s juices are made with ingredients not easily found in the produce section of my local grocery store or health-food outlet. Most are too strong-tasting for my palate. Some were so much so, I ended up dumping the drink down the drain. A few literally made me gag.

    This book is well-written and informative, but not my cup o’ tea. The photographs were great–even in my e-version of the book! The instructions on how to select, prepare and clean fruits and vegatables was very helpful. But nothing could help me get past the unpleasant taste of most of the recipes. For died-in-the-wool vegans and juicers, I’m sure this would be a great resource. However, I’ll stick to my blender and smoothie recipes, instead.
