    I have ready many books on this subject and I have to admit that personally that I have a preference for those written from a more expert perspective such as a dietician. However, as recipes and ideas widely differ; it is always interesting to try out new authors !

    How you will like this book will really depend on what you are looking for! If you are in the market for lost of new ideas in terms of smoothies, this book will fit the bill as there are over 50 recipes, with some really unique and interesting ideas that I have not seen anywhere else. the ingredients are common place, easy to find and there is really something for everyone whether you prefer sweet, more savory, a chocolate taste, a berry taste. For example, the vegetable salad in a cup was certainly something a little different and the exotic fantasy green smoothie with dried apricots and pumpkin seeds was a tasty combination.

    However if you are new to a green smoothie cleanse I would not necessarily start with this! There is no nutritional information whatsoever on each of these smoothies so who knows exactly what calories or nutrients you are getting from each smoothie and this is certainly of importance. Secondly, most of these were higher in fruit content than green content which adds more calories, less nutrients and can be an issue for certain people with food sensitivities.

    This book begins by stating that you “are holding in your hands all you need to know to start your own Green Smoothie Cleanse challenge” However, it is a best a companion to other books – in fact, to its credit, is does state that this is a companion to another book. by JJ Smith. It is also missing some important information such as those considering a cleanse should prep before hand, reducing things like caffeine, dairy, alcohol BEFORE embarking on such a cleanse. There is also the need to let folks know that the first few days can be tough, there are side effects and one should reduce exercise.

    I also felt like there was a lot of hype: you will lose” ugly belly fat without exercise” for example! A green cleanse will certainly reduce bloat and can speed up weight loss; but a flat belly requires exercise too! And those who are prone to Candida could actually find themselves with serious bloating due to the fruit content. I am also not too sure that someone with no medical background should advise people to perform a daily color cleanse if needed. Those new to a green smoothie diet, could find serious side effects from performing this in conjunction with a new high fiber diet!’

    In a nutshell, this is indeed a good compliment to a green smoothie cleanse diet, with some really cool recipes; but those new to such a cleanse, might want to do further research while using this book for recipe ideas!
