    I have enjoyed the other books in this series and have been looking forward to learning more about the eating strategy portion of the series. As with the other books there is a real common sense and practical approach to the subject, in this case creating an eating plan that you can live with, and that focuses on healthy eating while you lose weight, and not just weight loss at any cost.

    The book is mainly focused on calorie counting which seems to be the most practical style of eating plan as you can indulge yourself every once in a while as long as you stay within your calorie allowance. Personally I prefer this approach to eating and weight loss to all of the other restrictive “popular” diets that are around these days.

    Throughout the book what kept coming to mind was how realistic this plan was. The example meal plan was made up of basic food nothing fancy or costly, no super diet foods or supplements. Just basic food organised in such a way that you could eat well, occasionally having your treat foods, while at the same time staying under you calorie count and maintaining your weight loss.

    There are chapters on calorie cycling, how to eat your favourite treat foods and still stay on course as well as a holidays and special events section where you learn how to plan around these special occasions and not fall off the wagon.

    Finally there is a great resource and app section providing a great selection of programs, books, websites and apps to help you track your calories and generally stay on track.

    “Eating For Weight Loss” is both informative and inspiring as the author recounts various stories about her journey to lose 100 pounds. There is a lot in this book that anyone who is struggling to lose weight will relate to and get benefit from.

    It’s nice to see a diet book that doesn’t talk from authority but instead from ones point of view. The author has clearly tried a lot of diets in the past. She recognizes the yo-yo diet effect and has been a victim to it in the past, like so many people.

    I actually have a degree in sports science and am a qualified personal trainer (which is why I was interested to pick this book up), so I know that none of the advice in this book is harmful in any way. On the contrary, the advice contained within is sound and healthy advice that will do you the world of good, not to mention help you lose weight (fat weight too) in a healthy way.

    Unfortunately, if you’re not a great chef, or if you’re pressed for time it’s just too easy to eat garbage all the time. One really needs to make an effort by cooking quality and nutritious meals. This book gives plenty of great ideas as well as motivation for doing just this.

    The book contains lots of ideas for healthy and nutritious food as well as a calorie count by each, very helpful!

    There was also a great tip in there for tracking the calories you’re taking in! I won’t spoil it for you but it was very clever. Recommended!
