    I would recommend reading his first book,choose to lose, before moving onto this one. It might be confusing otherwise. It’s a great follow up with new recipes and more exercises

    I started this book 3 weeks ago and the pounds are flying off. Chris Powell is amazing!!!! For the first time in my life I’ve stuck to a meal and exercise plan with no problem. Of course it was rough at first, and still can be when my family eats junk food but, the cravings for sweets are fading! 🙂 so happy.

    A Good “Carb Cycle” Diet, May 13, 2013

    Choose Moore, Lose More for Life offers a good plan based on “Carb Cycling.” The basic idea is that you try to trick your metabolism by sharply varying your carbohydrate intake from day to day. Most plans in this book ask you to alternate between low carb and high carb days.

    The book offers four different plans, depending on your objectives: Easy, Classic, Turbo and Fit. Turbo, for example, promises faster weight loss, but you have to do 2 low carb days for every high carb day. For all the plans, you follow some basic rules, including: Eat 5 meals daily, Eat within 30 minutes of waking and then every 3 hours, and drink a gallon of water daily.

    The book has a fair amount of material that not everyone will find useful. There’s lots of background on Chris and his Wife and also lots of success story profiles. These are often of people who were very obese, and they include before and after photos are that are quite dramatic. The book also has about 50 pages of photos showing Chris and his wife doing exercises like jumping jacks. This is, I guess, a way to pad the book and make it longer, but not very useful.

    There are about 35 recipes, divided between breakfast/snacks and lunch/dinners. The recipes seem clear and include basic nutritional info like calories, carbs, etc. However, the number of recipes is a bit low; similar books often have at least 100.

    Overall this is a good presentation of a carb cycling plan and should be effective. I’d also recommend The Protein Express Diet: Rapid Weight Loss with a Simplified Low Carb, High Protein Diet. This has very easy to prepare low carb/high protein meals and will make your low carb days alot easier to get through. It also has its own diet plan.
